VIX / FCI / spreads answer: what is priced in options, credit, or financial conditions now? Excellent for market risk. Late relative to structural load when the surface is calm.

Narrative shops answer: what should the IC believe about politics and scenarios? Excellent for judgment and briefings. Not a deterministic domain audit trail.

Entropy Index answers: is this human system carrying thermodynamic stress under sealed six-domain physics — and is the job notice (Watch) or decide (Act)?

How to measure systemic risk without theater

  1. Keep market gauges for priced stress.
  2. Keep GPR or peers for news intensity if your models need them.
  3. Keep a rating panel if your process requires it.
  4. Keep strategist research for narrative and scenarios.
  5. Add a sealed structural layer with claim ceilings.
