Product lexicon

Three terms a mandate IC needs before reading the clocks — same language on the live Index.

Watch
Earliest Crisis of any fashion — I_sys Crisis, gap Crisis, or dual. Surface to clients; do not allocate on Watch alone.
Act
Dual Crisis — I_sys Crisis ∧ entropy gap ≥ Orange. The capital posture clock.
Hit
Signal at or before the relevant event day. Lighting on the day counts; missing the month is a miss.

Dual clocks

Watch and Act on the same event day

Watch = earliest Crisis vs public day of event (hit = at or before). Act = dual vs realization day when different. Do not allocate on Watch alone; do not hide Watch from clients. Mind-path episodes may be Watch-only in batting.

The verdict · plain read

What the sealed backtest says about Global oil / producer-state energy system — in everyday terms first.

What

Dual Crisis

Watch then Act before WTI trough

Sep 2014 gap Watch — Oct 2014 dual Act — 16–17 months before Feb 2016 trough.

Why

Producer-system stress registered before the barrel floor.

  • WTI trough held out as outcome validator.
  • Dual Act earned in October 2014 under frozen physics.
  • Inverse of the 2007–08 consumer-price spike.

Desk implication

Use Watch for producer-state escalation; Act when dual Crisis clears — this episode earned both.

How stress changed

Oilfield Body before the $26 print.

Producer employment, drilling IP, and Texas mood registered while the glut still read as shale success and a consumer tax cut. WTI trough is outcome validator only.

Holdout from 2014-07. Dual Act earned — do not allocate on Watch alone.

What happened

WTI fell from a June 2014 monthly average near $106 through the November 2014 OPEC Vienna no-cut (Saudi pump war) to a February 2016 monthly trough of $30.32 — cycle low $26.19 on 11 February.

US oilfield-services employment and drilling-wells IP collapsed through 2015. Crude production kept rising on shale lag — that series is held out of scored Body.

Banks tightened C&I standards into the trough. Texas manufacturing mood went deeply negative. Consumer sentiment rose as gasoline cheapened — UMCSENT is held out as an anti-signal.

What the Index showed

September 2014: gap Crisis — Watch fashion, seventeen months before the February 2016 WTI trough.

October 2014: dual Crisis — Act fashion, sixteen months before the trough.

February 2016 trough month: I_sys Crisis, gap Green — Body had caught the producer collapse; WTI print is outcome validator only.

Same frozen V5-locked physics as the 2007–08 oil spike — this episode is the producer-side inverse.

Method

Sealed physics. Dual clocks.

  • Watch/Act clocks anchor on 11 February 2016 WTI cycle low. Gate = gap Crisis on or before that month. Dual Act also earned.
  • Body: oilfield-services employment + drilling-wells IP (1-month BLS/Fed lag). WTI and crude-production IP held out.
  • Mind: USEPUINDXM + Baa–10y spread. Identity: curated OPEC/shale policy stress. Adaptation: SLOOS C&I tightening. Courage: oilfield machinery orders. Perceived: Dallas Fed Texas GBA.
  • Holdout from 2014-07 — crash months are out of cutoff fit. Same physics as GFC and the 2008 oil spike.

  • Pass

  • Pass

  • Pass

Honesty rails

What we do not claim

Sealed backtest under Travis-signed claim ceiling. These limits are features — not footnotes.

  • We do not use the WTI trough print as a scored Body input.
  • We do not forecast oil price targets or OPEC decisions.
  • We do not treat gap Crisis (Watch) as capital Act / allocate — Act is dual Crisis.
  • We do not mix this producer-crash ledger with the 2007–08 consumer-spike ledger.

Same physics as the GFC banner proof

This episode shares the frozen V5-locked physics hash with US GFC 2008 — different construct ledger, same instrument. The lead-time pattern (Index ahead of conventional gauges) is the product claim, not a one-off fit.

Why Entropy Index

The Entropy Index registers producer-system stress before the WTI trough — sealed Watch and Act.

  • Watch surfaces gap Crisis before the barrel floor.
  • Act dual cleared sixteen months before the trough.
  • Live corridor and producer-state scoring uses the same engine today.
